Hi Guys!

Where to find F number?

I have HP Envy 14-1100: i5-460m & HD5650(m)

I download Catalyst_13.1_WHQL_UnifL_V2.1 but in some reason didn’t work. Installed Catalyst_13.1_WHQL_UnifL_Full but brightness control doesn’t work. Adjusting brightness in Power Options don’t do any thing. Does any body have a solution for this problem ?

Thank you for you time!
Nax

HP ENVY 17 (17T-3200) WIn7/x64 on 13.1/UnifL v2.1 – F940 caused to crash CCC and blue screen Win7/64. FFFF working nominally and CCC no longer crashes/blue screens.

13.3 Beta3 UnifL – 13.3 driver worked fine. CCC had niggly issues with blank drop downs for power settings. Reverted back to 13.1 UnifL v2.1.

CR…

Worked with latest AMD Driver 13.3 beta on Windows 8 X64 Radeon HD6490M. Tank’s a lot !

If nothing works, which happened for me, try to install the latest driver from your manufacturer. For me it was driver fault. The official amd 13.3 version also broke the brightness controlling.

It’s working now after rolling back to my manufacturer’s 13.1 drivers.

Leshcat! I tried it (was strongly recommended) and now ALL my files are gone ! All that remained is a bunch of programs:( I am so screwed now, I had all my work in the PC with only a fraction of it backed up ! Does it say anywhere that it would erase the disc???

• Reply leshcat May 22, 2013 9:51 am

Lol what? UBR has no power to erase anything at all. It changes few registry settings and you are the 1st one that managed to do that. Of course, i am sorry to hear about that incident, however, please check if something\someone else did erase the files.

Hi Leshcat, currently I have HP Pavillion DM4 1209-TX Laptop with ATI Mobility Radeon HD 6370 combined with Intel HD Graphics (Legacy)

Brightness issue isn’t resolved even with the right values. I’ve read your manual about checking out the .inf file from the manufacturer’s driver to know the right value for the laptop. The “featurecontrolset” thingy. The value set there if F840, but no luck, the brightness/wakeup issue is still there. Any help leshcat? Sorry for the bad explanation

BTW, my OS is Windows 8 Pro x64 :)

Hey, I have an idea, what if I backup the registry of the ones from the manufacturer’s drivers? Like this

1. Install Manufacturer’s drivers
2. Backup current registry with the right values
3. Uninstall manufacturer’s drivers
4. Install UniFL drivers
5. Restore backed up registries
6. ?!?! (Will it work?)

Hi Leshcat, the idea that I’ve tried didn’t work. Any fix for this? :( I’m getting frustrated and is forced to go back to 2 years old driver by HP

• Reply leshcat May 23, 2013 8:36 am

I believe issue is in drastical programming difference between old and new drivers thats why old featuretestcontrol is not working.

• Reply Juan Miguel May 23, 2013 8:42 am

Thanks for the fast reply leshcat, too bad my laptop’s hardware is really bad :( Oh well, I guess I’ll just go back to my old drivers :D

Thanks for the fast response sir, I really appreciate it. :D Maybe I’ll just wait for the next release and check out if the brightness issue is still there :D

that are brightness settings from the ati CCC.
How can i set it up to match the f940 profile?

I forgot to mention I’m using official v13.1 drivers with a switchable ati 5470 hd

All tools are designed for UnifL but you can try setting it via UnifL Brightness Tool.

• Reply bob Jun 6, 2013 7:37 pm

Ehi leshcat! I give it another try, and I think it worked! Now I can change the brightness from windows settings, but there’s an issue: the brightness level is max at 60% and 90% and decreases at 100%
I have this result with f940, f920 (and 840 doesn’t work)
Do I have to try another one to fix it?
